Batman is taking his Blackgate adventure from handhelds and moving it onto the big screen. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition is headed to PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Wii U come April 2nd 2014.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition will include enhanced graphics, 5.1 surround sound, a new map, a new hint system and fully voiced narrative. The press release mentions a price point of £15.99 which is normally a decent price for a digital only HD Remaster.
The problem is Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate felt pretty good on the PS Vita and more than likely also felt the same on the Nintendo 3DS. What’s pretty good on a handheld usually isn’t the best on the big screen, usually you want to bring your best and brightest from handhelds to consoles not your average titles.
If you don’t own either handheld and need to play Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate now is your chance. If you do have either handheld you’re best bet is to pick it up on sale, I was able to snag it on PS Plus for $10 and it was the perfect price for this portable Metroidvania Batman adventure.
