A new trailer has emerged for the new PC and PlayStation 4 video game that’s going to make you poop your pants SOMA. SOMA is being brought to you be the mad geniuses over at Frictional Games who’s resume reads like a multi-day fright fast as they were also responsible for Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Penumbra: Requiem, and Penumbra: Overture.
If you have never heard of these previous game just look up some footage on YouTube of people freaking the hell out over any one of the previous titles. Now realize this new title is set in a very strange place, possibly in the near future, and there are some high tech robotics and A.I. that aren’t acting quite right. This setting is what’s really drawing me into SOMA more than the haunted house atmosphere of their previous games.
Obviously I know this is just a haunted house in outer space but hey a change of setting is sometimes all that’s needed to hook someone. Could SOMA be the Alien of the horror video game genre? We’ll just have to wait and see how well Frictional Games can craft their story of fright.
