This latest trailer for Driver: San Francisco burns rubber all over my brain with the reveal of 3 multiplayer modes, Tag: Catch The Leader, Shift-Race: Shift to Win and finally Takedown: Cops and Robbers. After watching this trailer I want to know more about the Directors Mode included in this latest game. I doubt they would allow the splitscreen effect but what about those old film effects and adding a rocking soundtrack? The original Driver for the PS1 had a crazy Directors Mode that I would spend hours on and really made me try the craziest stunts so I could capture them and show it off to my friends.
Did anyone let Ubisoft know we wanted unlimited hubcaps back too? I can remember cackling like a mad man as we blew through more hubcaps than a swap shop as the cars in the original Driver would take turns at high speed and always lose a hubcap. There’s just something missing when a car chase doesn’t include those shots of a lone hubcap rolling down the street after an epic turn.
