When in doubt, ask someone in the know. Rock, Paper, Shotgun does just that and asks a lawyer about Region Locking. Region Locking, while bad for us consumers, hasn’t yet been tested in a court of law so it remains legal. Until that time it remains a nuisance for gamers but even if tested it could still prove to be legal. The best bet gamers have is if a publisher was using region locking to intentionally inflate the cost of a game based on region.
Sadly the inverse for gamers is still illegal, if a gamer imports a game and uses VPN or cracks to get around a region lock they can end up breaking laws in their country. Remember people, these companies have deep pockets so your best bet is to not get caught up in the region lock mess. Use common sense try and contact your countries local consumer protection body, hell get on facebook and get everyone to do it if you have to.
