Hitting PS3 and Xbox 360 with it’s 2D, side scrolling, 80’s cartoon inspired action Awesomenauts was already a shoe in for being like Cap’n Crunch on a early Saturday morning, pure bliss. Now the dudes at Ronimo bring us the icing on the cake and give you and not one but TWO friends the ability to battle wave after wave of enemies on the same couch. Couch co-op splitscreen is sadly missing from a lot of games these days but not Awesomenauts and the best part if all your friends are far and away you can always play 6 player online matches. That’s right double the amount of people online, you know you wouldn’t want 6 people on your couch, they’d eat all your cereal anyway. Stock up on milk, cereal, sleeping bags and get ready as Awesomenauts is dropping soon for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Hamburg, 3rd March 2012 – Did you know that MOBA stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena? It’s true! Did you also know the upcoming XBLA and PSN game Awesomenauts actually is a MOBA? It is! In Awesomenauts two teams of three players battle it out for honour, glory and of course experience points!
But sometimes those roommates on your couch might get bored of watching you dominate matches using your Awesome(nauts) skills. Well, why not invite them to join you using the splitscreen feature? You can play with up to three people on a single console. So you can form your own team and take on the galaxy! And if your friends need some training first, you can try the offline practice mode where the bots will provide the challenge. So off- or online, you can take your friends along for the ride.
To give you a better idea on the split screen mode, the awesome guys at Ronimo sculpted a new split screen trailer, which can be found here:
