DRAGON’S DOGMATM FROM CAPCOM® NOW AVAILABLE NATIONWIDE

New Action-RPG Features Wondrous Open World Exploration, Innovative Pawn System and Epic Battles Against Fierce Creatures

San Mateo, Calif. — May 22, 2012 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Dragon’s Dogma™ is now available at retailers across North America for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360 ® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Set against a high fantasy backdrop in a huge open world, players challenge a fearsome dragon and set forth on an incredible journey to discover the mythical beast’s secrets and end the cycle of destruction. Dragon’s Dogma redefines the Action-RPG genre with exhilarating skill-based action combat, free exploration of a rich environment, and the unique Pawn system.

From the creators behind Capcom’s critically acclaimed action games Resident Evil® 4 and Devil May Cry® 4Dragon’s Dogma draws upon this pedigree to deliver deep, fulfilling combat in an epic adventure. Players take on the role of the Arisen, a humble peasant chosen for something greater. They can fully customize this main character’s appearance through a vast set of options which has an effect on gameplay in an intuitive way. Many factors including the character’s build, the weight of their weapon and armor, all play roles in how they fight their battles.  Players initially choose from three basic classes, the Fighter, Strider, or Mage, each with their own unique abilities and fighting styles. Over the course of their journey, players are able to advance from these basic vocations to hybrid or prestige classes for a total of nine classes.

Dragon’s Dogma introduces an innovative team dynamic to the Action-RPG genre called the Pawn system. Otherworldly AI partners called Pawns aid the Arisen on their journey. A fully customizable main Pawn companion accompanies the Arisen throughout, while two support Pawns can be swapped out based on the Arisen’s needs. Players recruit Pawns by venturing into the Rift, a space between worlds which can be accessed either offline or online.  Players utilizing Xbox LIVE® or PlayStation®Network, can rent out their main Pawn companion to friends as temporary secondary Pawns in those parties. Whatever experience is gained by the rented Pawn on these excursions is brought back in the form of strategic knowledge and even loot. Conversely, players can borrow friends’ Pawns with the specific skills or experience beneficial to tackling a particular quest. A Facebook and Twitter compatible photo share feature allows players to capture in-game screens in order to promote the use of their main Pawn by others. Additionally,Dragon’s Dogma will ship with thousands of ready-made Pawns for players to pick their allies offline.

Dragon’s Dogma will be supported post launch with a comprehensive suite of additional game content including additional quests as well as weapon and armor upgrades. A downloadable demo featuring two challenging encounters is now available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 and the PlayStation®Store. The demo includes in-depth character creation tools which allow players to customize their main character and main Pawn, which can then be exported for use with the full retail game.

Retail versions of  Dragon’s Dogma will contain a redeemable token that will allow owners to download the  Resident Evil®6 demo. Purchasers of the Xbox 360 version of  Dragon’s Dogma will be able to immediately redeem this token via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 to download the  Resident Evil 6 demo globally starting on July 3 for Xbox 360, 60 days earlier than any other platform. The demo for owners of the PlayStation 3 system version of  Dragon’s Dogma will go live on the PlayStation®Store on Sept. 4 in North America.
