Hotline Miami is definitely a game that has blown the doors off the top down video game genre. There’s the little astetics of how they’ve emulated old retro console footage, not just sprites but the effects a tube TV would have made. Then there’s the gameplay that’s not as straight forward Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2 style as it seems. You need to plan your routes through this game, sure you can run and gun but it will only make the game seem a lot more challenging than if you stop and use your brain for a minute. Finally we get this trailer that’s been making the rounds and yeah I’m putting a NSFW tag on here because I’m not sure what your co-workers would think of you if they saw this playing on your screen. I mean we know, “hey you’re watching that cool/weird new Hotline Miami Trailer” everyone else eh not so much. So when you finally do get a chance when you’re sure no one is around or hell wait until you’re home check out the trailer below. Maybe then you’ll be ready when Hotline Miami drops on October 23rd 2012.
