Tequila Mobile brings next generation of naval battle to social arena
Wroclaw (2012-10-18) – Tequila Mobile, makers of Fantasy Kingdom Defense HD, released a teaser trailer for their upcoming free-to-play social game. BattleFriends at Sea is a cross-platform, asynchronous multiplayer game of naval battle. Users deploy their ships and take turns shooting at each other, collecting experience to unlock progressively more prestigious ranks: from a lowly Recruit to distinguished Admiral.
“We’re betting large on the social aspect,” explains Lukasz Deszczulka, Tequila Mobile’s CMO and Executive Producer of BattleFriends. “While it’s possible to compete with strangers – and perhaps forge new relationships – the BattleFriends experience is specifically tailored for friend-to-friend duels. We have robust Facebook integration, which allows you to challenge your pals instantly, as well as a fun to use chat system.”
“Making sure the app is cross-platform was a huge deal for us,” adds Radek Smektala, Lead Designer of BattleFriends. “All your data is held in the cloud, so you can start playing on your Android phone at work, switch to an iPod midway through, and then continue on an iPad once you’re finally home. Your friends, experience and statistics will be seamlessly transferred to whichever device you log on.”
While the app aims to bring gamers and non-gamers alike the most polished social experience possible on mobile, it also charts new waters when it comes to visuals. “It took quite some time to settle on the artstyle, but I truly believe we managed to hit the jackpot,” insists Smektala. “The battles take place on miniature planets, filled with high definition 3D models, mind-blowing special effects and lots of cinematic close-ups. If you think the game looks good on the screens though, just wait until you see it in motion.”
