Despite pissing gamer’s off the world over EA is throwing up some impressive numbers for Real Racing 3. Number 1 app in ninety countries, it took less than one week to surpass the combined downloads of Real Racing 1 and 2, twenty five million races are completed each day, three hundred and fifty races have been completed to date, the average person spends twenty five minutes per day racing and there’s been a total of fourteen million hours spent racing since launch.
Now what’s not here is how long people have waited to do things because of the in-app purchases nor how much they’ve made via them either. If we had to guess we would say at least twenty five million brass tchotchke’s worth, whatever that works out to in your choice of money. Sadly there’s not even a way to buy the game and just play forever without waiting. It’s not the fun kind of freemium like Hawken where you just play and if you like it you can pay real money to buy more mechs that don’t expire or need some artificial waiting time to use. Maybe Real Racing 4 will return to this land of non-timed fun but for now you’re probably better off with the earlier entries.
