Papo & Yo heads to PC thanks to the efforts of Minority Media. The once exclusive PlayStation surreal puzzle game is finally branching out and giving even more gamer’s a chance to experience a game that’s like no other. While players control a young boy named Quico his friend Monster is also following along during this magical journey. While Monster can help Quico has a addiction to frogs that makes him dangerous to everyone including Quico. The whole world changes and comes alive around Quico and Monster on their journey making for some intriguing puzzles. Award-winning Indie Adventure Papo & Yo Coming to Steam April 18
MONTREAL – March 26, 2013 – Minority Media, an independent game development studio, today announced that its imaginative adventure hitPapo & Yo will be released on Steam on April 18, 2013. Previously available only on PlayStation®Network (PSN), Papo & Yo is receiving a number of updates and improvements for its next release.
Based on Creative Director Vander Caballero’s childhood in South America,Papo & Yo follows a young boy, Quico, and his best friend Monster, a mostly-friendly beast with razor-sharp teeth. Monster loves Quico but has a serious problem: an addiction to poisonous frogs, which, when eaten, drive him into a murderous rage from which no one, even Quico, is safe. As Quico, players adventure through a mystical world, manipulating the environment to open up new paths and move forward on their quest to cure Monster of his addiction and save him from the greatest danger of all: himself.
“My goal with Papo & Yo was to tell my own personal story, but in a way that anyone, whether or not they had a similar childhood, could have an emotional experience through a video game,” said Vander Caballero, Minority Creative Director. “When we started, we had no idea what would happen. But after Papo finally came out, we got so much positive feedback that we knew Minority needed to continue to bring these experiences to as many people as possible, starting with Papo coming to Steam, and beyond, through new stories in new games.”
