Life of Pixel by Super Icon is not another “hey lets make a pixelated game and throw it up on Kickstarter”. If you want some real nostalgia then Life of Pixel is your game.
When recreating the feeling of old games, it’s not just the fact that the games looked pixelated, they had a feeling. How do you get that feeling, Super Icon does it the right way We thoroughly researched the graphics capabilities, pixel resolutions, colour palettes & scrolling of each machine and our aim was to recreate these limitations as closely as possible
. And that’s how you do it, with SCIENCE!
But look science can be fun, it’s giving us a bad ass game going through the birth of gaming. Specifically Life of Pixel will be taking you through the Atari 2600, Sinclair ZX81, ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC464, BBC Model B, Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Master System and the Nintendo Gameboy. That’s a journey from the massive explosion of the Atari 2600 until the handheld bliss of Nintendo’s Gameboy.
