Dying Light by Techland has an interesting premise where you’ll free run through the zombie apocalypse to gather supplies and survive. That means Techland had better have taken a queue from Brink as the free running in Dying Light better be smooth as hell when it’s one of your core mechanics. The CG trailer shows off the kind of dynamics I can’t wait to actually see pulled off in-game but I guess we’ll have to wait for more footage to see exactly how this one plays.
The other thing Techland is touting for Dying Light is its day/night cycle along with prey and predator relationships. Night time will play a big role as the zombies, or infected as the press release calls them, will become much more aggressive and you’ll have to plan your actions more carefully. Also there are other creatures who will only come out to hunt at night making your trek that much more dangerous. Hopefully we hear more about Dying Light during E3 2013, until then sit back and enjoy some free running, oh and remember to always clear an area before you get all teary eyed, you’ll thank me later.

About Dying Light…
Dying Light is a first-person, action survival horror game by Techland set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, players traverse an expansive urban environment overrun by a vicious outbreak, scavenging the world for supplies and crafting weapons to defend against the growing infected population.
