I had to look up who the hell Copperhead is in the DC Universe; looking over his wikipedia I can see why I have no idea, he was never in Batman: The Animated Series. Looking at his origin he seems like an odd choice but he is assassin and Black Mask is calling out assassins to kill Batman in Batman: Arkham Origins so here we are.
Immediately you’ll realize they’ve changed the character for the better, what started out as a man snake contortionist combo is now played by a female and I think this fits the role much better. When you think flexible you would guess a female would be able to twist herself around a person more so than a man. Also the Copperhead in Batman: Arkham Origins is giving off a kind of Catwoman-y vibe that should play nicely off the always stoic Bruce Wayne. Maybe she can inject herself into Wayne’s life as well, I wouldn’t mind that one bit.
Lastly this trailer below shows off some of Copperheads moves and I’m digging it. She has seemed to adapt a gymnastic, lucha libre, wwe wrestling, mma type move set with split flips, kicks, what looked like a modified hurricanrana and also some kind of inverted choke move. So yeah, definitely someone more able to go toe to toe with the Bats versus the original character. Be sure to check out the trailer below to scout some of Copperheads moves before Batman: Arkham Origins launches October 25th 2013 for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U while the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita get their own sidescroller like version on that date as well.
