Castle of Illusion is a beloved classic game that is getting a remake and SEGA has huge shoes to fill. How huge? We’re aren’t talking rose colored glasses good we’re talking one of the best classic games of all time huge, that’s HUGE! So now we get a second look behind the scenes at the Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse remake and it is looking the part. If you look at upcoming remakes like Duketales or Flashback, Castle of Illusion looks as good if not better than these other recent remakes which is what a game of this caliber needs to be. That’s what Sega needs to bring, Castle of Illusion needs to be a notch better in graphics, sound and gameplay than all the other HD remakes coming down the pipe. Looking at all the development going on it sure seems like the guys working on the game have their heart in the right place with the sound and graphical touches that take from the original and make this remake feel similar looking and sounding very good.
The gameplay we’ll have to reserve judgement for until we can actually play the game but we should find out soon as it is scheduled to launch this Summer on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Sadly no PS Vita or Nintendo 3DS versions are listed and looking around I can see I’m not in the minority wanting a portable version as well. Head down past the jump and check out some of the new gameplay action with your own eyes.
