I think Ace Combat Infinity just gave a bunch of other flight games the bird.. you know, the finger*. The game looks good, real good in-fact and going free to play we can’t help but wonder what is going on over at Namco Bandai. There must be some plan to take over all other flight games that are still forty dollars plus. This isn’t just some multiplayer only arena either as there’s a full story campaign and team co-op multiplayer included in this free to play coating. However I’m sure some of you are sad that there isn’t a free to play, online, Ace Combat universe, persistent flying arena game thing, hell I would play that too!
I’m very interested to see how they pull this one off with the solo campaign and the four on four team based multiplayer set in a near future world. It’s sad we can’t see like 32 v 32 matches, especially if what you see in the trailer below is any indication to the scope of the world. I can’t really tell what is a backdrop and what is flyable space but if I can juke and jive down crowded city streets and between skyscrapers I’m sold or downloaded… I don’t even know how that expression works with free to play titles.
The game is sadly exclusive to the PlayStation 3 console only, it would be nice if they brought it over to PC and made it cross platform. I know that will never happen but hell what a send off it would be as the last Ace Combat game for the system. Namco Bandai and Team Aces fully expects Ace Combat Infinity to be out before 2013 is over so keep that radio chatter to a minimum and check out the gorgeous trailer below.
