Assault Android Cactus Hits Steam Early Access, Also Coming To Wii U

Assault Android Cactus takes its twin stick awesomeness to Steam, wins a few awards and aims its laser beams at the Wii U. First up Assault Android Cactus is now sitting pretty on Steam Early Access which means you can pick it up now for the small sum of $15 and check it out while it is still in development.

Next congradulations goes to developers Witch Beam who not only took the award for Best Action Game at Intel’s Level Up Competition but Assault Android Cactus was also selected to be one of the game featured in the Eurogamer Expo Indie Game Arcade, very cool indeed. So if you’ll be heading over to the Eurogamer Expo be sure to stop by, play the game and show the guys some support. Finally along with the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita, Assault Android Cactus is also coming to the Wii U in early 2014.

That means there’s a good chance no matter who you are you’ll have access to some twin stick, robot blasting action. I mean come on, who hasn’t dreamed about being a Police Android sent in to kill robots by the hundreds with the only way out to blast the evil A.I. brain? I don’t know about you but that always sounded fun to me. Assault Android Cactus also supports up to four players so you can bring along your three android loving friends and kick major robot ass. Assault Android Cactus will be on Wii U, Wins Best Action Game at Intel Level Up and goes on Sale to the Public

Assault Android Cactus has been selected for the Eurogamer Expos Indie Game Arcade and will be featured at Pax Prime

Brisbane, Australia – September 28th, 2013 – Independent game developerWitch Beam is pleased to announce their award winning action/arcade shooter, Assault Android Cactus is currently on sale for Steam Early Access.  The multiplayer bullet hell boasts waves of robotic enemies, a deadly mix of artillery and high intensity score boosting combo chains!  The current alpha version of the game is available on the Humble Store for $15 (US) for PC, Mac and Linux.  The game will also be available on Playstation 4, PS Vita and Wii U in early 2014.

It’s a good month to be an Android.  Assault Android Cactus just won Intel’s Level Up competition for Best Action Game.  As a result, the game was invited to take part in the Intel Booth in the PC Area of PAX Prime.  Fans and PAX attendees can have a play through the award winning demo Friday through Monday at the expo.    Assault Android Cactus has also been selected forEurogamer Expo Indie Game Arcade, which takes place At Earls Court in London from the 26th to the 29th of September.  Fans can stop by and play the demo along a line of other popular indie titles.

Assault Android Cactus will now also be released on the Wii U adding to it’s long list of platforms.  Recently the game had been featured for it’s upcoming release on PS4 and PS Vita on the Playstation Blog. The PS4 and PS Vita versions will be cross-by as well.  The game is expected to be released in early of 2014 for Playstation 4, PS Vita and Wii U.

Early Access and a demo are currently available through Steam and the Alpha build is also available by pre-ordering through the Humble Store.  The build will contain 16 levels & 5 characters, and will continue to be updated until the games final release in November.

About the game:

The player takes on the role of Cactus, an enthusiastic police android, who responds to a stranded space freighter only to discover it under siege by its malfunctioning robot workers. Cut off from the outside and in over her head, Cactus and the androids she recruits along the way battle through the crippled Genki Star to reach the brain of the ship and put things right before it’s too late.

Key Features:

Multiple Playable Characters – Each android has a unique weapon set and play style, players can unlock and experiment to find which android suits them best.
Dynamic Levels – From lights out to shifting walls to giant flamethrowers, there are surprises on board the Genki Star that will keep players on their toes.
Overwhelming Odds – Push back against hordes of robots with quick reactions and clever weapon tactics.
Giant Robot Bosses – Challenge the guardian of each deck as they unleash bullet hell and stage covering special attacks.
