Classic beat ’em up franchise Double Dragon is headed to iOS and Android with the Double Dragon Trilogy by DotEmu. There’s some curious choices here, like why not include more Double Dragon games for the complete package, but I’m guessing DotEmu is just working with what they have so we get Double Dragon, Double Dragon 2: The Revenge, and Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone.
The games look to be the arcade versions of the classics but do have brand new options for a whole new generation to explore. First there’s this new music, love it or hate it, and thankfully you can switch between the two so everyone should be happy. Next up we have new leaderboards on both iOS Game Center and Android’s Google Play Game Service so you can see just who’s the baddest dude of them all.
Double Dragon Trilogy wouldn’t be right without gamepad support but DotEmu covers all bases and says “most” so hopefully you are in that category. There’s also co-op mode however the video show’s two iOS devices playing over bluetooth and I really hope you can both use a controller in co-op. Finally Double Dragon Trilogy has two modes, Arcade, just like you remember, and Story, where you unlock new stages and achievements, along with three difficulty modes mobile, original (like the Arcade) and expert.
