Last time we saw Planets³ and it looked pretty cool, there was a cube planet that was built with cubes and then you found out there where other cube planets to visit and explore. This latest trailer is showing off more mechanics in the game and it’s starting to become huge!
We start off with what we assume is you the player crash landing on an random alien landscape. There’s a bunch of weapons shown off that you can use in first person, a gun, spear, chainsaw, dynamite, PDA, more guns and some type of club weapon. You want to build you own vehicle to speed around the planet on, go ahead, just make one out of cubes and you’re all set.
The we see the weapon creator and this is where it gets bananas. They show a regular sword and there’s tons of customization you can do to it from the blade shapes, to the color and the minerals look to dictate the power the final weapon will have. Next we’re shown some characters, the goldsmith, the farmer, the fighter, the engineer, the builder and the blacksmith. Who we team up with will shape our character’s abilities but it also looks like it shapes some of their look and attire as well.
Finally we zoom out of the little planet we were on the whole time and see that there is a cube solar system we’ve been orbiting around. Each planet has it’s own cubed orbit around a cubed sun keeping things perfectly cubical. Finally we’re shown what looks like thousands of cubed solar systems. We really need a chance to get some hands on time with this open world role playing game as it could be the ultimate game of cubes.

Aliens in human form crashed on Earth a few decades ago and never left. As the story progresses, players will discover why these aliens stayed on the planet and will have to rescue these visitors, and even help build a ship so they can go back home. Planets3 also offers side quests that will allow players to unlock the secrets of the Planets3 universe and find objects only available in these optional storylines.
