The wonderfully whimsical Windforge has released on Steam today, March 11th 2014 and if you act fast you can save 10% off the normal price of $14.99 and pick it up for $13.49. Interestingly Windforge seems to take a page out of Dishonored and fill a world with a society who depends on Whale Oil to survive, not a bad story twist to keep it interesting if you ask me.
The sidescrolling adventure has you grappling hooked to flying whales, taking an airship into the sky to do battle, a procedural world with anything and everything destroyable, over 1200 craftable items and more. To give you an idea of where their head is the developers are pitching this as Contra mixed with Terraria and that’s one bad ass sounding combo indeed.
Be sure to check out the trailer to see the game in action and also look over these screenshots, we’re sure there’s something in there that’ll catch your eye. Will you be the one who will find the answer to the whale oil epidemic of Windforge or will you just blow everything the hell up, does it really matter as long as you have ridiculous fun, nope.
