Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet has docked it’s vessel at the port of Steam Greenlight and is looking for votes to fill up its ranks before setting sail onto Steam proper. The adventure game stars Nelly who’s the titular pirate out to stop a nefarious baron that just so happens to have his own fleet of water birds, yup that subtitle is not just for show. I’m really liking the art style from the trailer, not sure exactly where it fits in, it’s not comic book like but I wouldn’t call it cell shaded either, maybe just hand drawn is the best description.
Speaking of the trailer it shows off all the adventure game staples you’ve come to love from the genre, interesting conversations, puzzle solving, full voice acting, a very nice touch, and a variety of areas to mill around in and explore at your leisure, suit not required. Also for once we have a voice over by a proper Englishman who’s also the designer and animator for Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet. How English is he you ask, he even takes his tea on camera during the voice over, can’t get much more English than that! Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet seems to be the charming return to adventure games that didn’t take themselves to seriously I would like to see more of and if you would too head on over and Greenlight them here.
