A 2D arena brawler mixed with a card game is the best way I can describe Mastertronic’s Overruled! You and three friends, either local or online, will beat the ever loving shit out of each other to see who’s the best of the best. The characters look like something out of the Funko Pop selection at your local comic book store which is a nice change of pace from all the muscled up heroes and heroines from fighting games past.
The twist comes with the 25 charge ’em up cards which players can activate at a moments notice and that’s when the madness of Overruled comes into play. Change the mode from 2 vs 2 to 1 vs 3, change the game mode to capture the flag game, king of the hill or swag bag, double your points, instant cooldown and more. Overruled is currently scheduled to be released on Steam on August 12th 2014 for £9.99 / $12.99 / 11,99 € but you can pick it up for 30% off for a limited time during the launch window.
