The guys who frequent the [H]ard|Forum are always a source of great inspiration for anyone who loves to build PC’s. If you thought your PC building skills were pushing the limits you need to check out some of photos posted in the worklogs section of forum. Some of those builds there are on a whole other level of workmanship, if you even come close you should feel proud or your hand work.
The photo above comes from one such inspired PC build by user imfaceroll who’s taken to the idea of putting his workstation inside of his desk. Now I’ve seen a few of these around and they usually end up pretty cool, with plexi glass so you can see all the guts of your workstation while you go about your day to day busines fragging noobs and slaying spreadsheets but imfaceroll adds a little extra something to his build.
From the outset imfaceroll does what most people expect adding some slick water cooling and a healthy amount of neon but then he goes the extra mile by adding a powerful built in sound system. He’s wired up in a TEAC double DIN car stereo headunit with LCD, amplifier, a pair of 4″ JVC 2 way speakers, a pair of fusion 3 way 6×9″ speakers and even a 12″ fusion subwooder.
Then there’s workstation inside which matches the powerful sound system. Imfaceroll built his monster desk using an Intel i7 4770k processer, 32GB of RAM, two Nvidia GTX 780Ti GPU’s, 8TB total across 3 mechanical hard drives, 740GB total across 4 SSD’s an ASUS Xonar Essence STX Soundcard and an ASUS Xonar Phoebus Soundcard. Not to be content with a single monitor all that power is setup to push an amazing amount of pixels onto three 27″ monitors that will be mounted to the desk as well.
I’ve picked out a few choice screenshots below for you to drool over but you should really check out the full worklog to see the progression of this amazing desk build. Even more inspiring is the fact that this is imfaceroll’s second build ever, the first being a regular workstaion in a case. If that doesn’t give you hope that literally anyone can put together something amazing with equal amount of spare time and dedication I don’t know what will.
