Yeah I know I hate Cinematic Trailers just as much as you guys but damn it if this Starpoint Gemini 2 trailer had me shouting “Yeeeee-hawwwwwww!!” I’ve loved me some space action games since Wing Commander however to be truthful on Privateer really sucked me in because you I fancied myself a Smuggler and Smuggling is cool.
Onto Starpoint Gemini 2, I don’t know why Iceberg Interactive feels the need to put out this cinematic trailer, the screenshots up on the Steam page look fantastic already. Maybe they should have called this a scripted space sequence instead? More to the point if you really wanna see Starpoint Gemini 2 in action just check out the insane amount of player uploaded Youtube videos.
What starpoint Gemini 2 has going for it is Steam Workshop support, full control support, Steam Big Picture Mode support, wormholes, 70 unique ships, random mission generation and ships with turrets that look cool shooting laser beams all through space. That’s right, LASER BEAMS!
Currently Starpoint Gemini 2 is $24.99 on Steam Early Access no word on any kind of final price. But the updates for this Early Access build seem strong and steady, a little more than one game update a month, not bad at all. Developer Little Green Men Games are already on version 0.8 which should mean a final 1.0 before the year is out if they keep on schedule. I’m really interested to see how this plays in Big Picture Mode, hopefully a nice YouTuber will upload a video soon.
