Black the Fall on Kickstarter is looking pretty awesome, it has that Another World, Flashback, Blackthorn vibe going for it with a dash of Limbo. I know people hate when you say this game is like a bunch of other games but it really is the easiest way. The game isn’t purely black or white either, watching the video you can see little splashes of color and of course that crimson mist when you take out of the the enemies.
Speaking of enemies you aren’t only just here to kill everything in sight. There are native people in this world who may need your help and the risk you take to help them might be repaid in the future but at what cost? If you’ve just stealthed your way past a few guards is it really worth it to save someone from a life in the mines or continue on and maybe save a group of them later?
Black the Fall also has environmental puzzles to solve that will test your wits along with crafting. Yes, crafting in a 2.5D side scroller, you’ll need to use all the resources at your disposal to take out those damn Machines that control the world. So you’ll want to upgrade your weapons and ammo any chance you get totake on the bigger and badder challenges that await.
Be sure to check out the Kickstarter video above for Black the Fall to get a feel for where this game is headed. Black the Fall was also recently picked up by the Square Enix Collective which means should the game be funded Square Enix will help with marketing and outreach. However they do not put funds into the game, they do however take a small percentage for their work. $16 gets you a copy of Black the Fall when it releases for either PC, Mac or Linux.

PRESS RELEASE
Black the Fall last few days on Kickstarter
Sand Sailor Studio, based in Romania – a country with few options for videogame development funding – quickly bagged a Staff Pick on Kickstarter, as well as the stamp of approval from Square Enix, having passed a Team Assessment before the campaign started.
Now the team is into its final push to raise the necessary funds to see them over the line and help them achieve their dream.
As well as the Kickstarter campaign, Sand Sailor Studio also previously ran a successful Steam Greenlight campaign, and if their funding target of £25,000 is achieved by the deadline this Friday, they aim to deliver the game in the Summer of 2015.
Square Enix Collective is a platform that aims to help independent developers find an audience for their projects, by enabling them to tap into our community and media resources. Projects which gamers support through the initial Feedback phase may be offered continued support through crowdfunding too; but developers are free to choose whether to accept, and always retain IP and complete creative control over their projects.
For more information on Square Enix Collective, or if you wish to talk to any of the developers featured on the Feedback platform or supported through funding (including Sand Sailor Studio), please contact Phil Elliott: collective@square-enix.com
