Call of Duty® Voted Best Videogame Franchise by Readers of Guinness World Records 2015 Gamer’s Edition in Online Poll
London, UK – 12th November 2014 – An online poll of more than 5,000 readers of the Guinness World Records Gamers Edition, from across 140 countries around the world, voted the Call of Duty series their favourite game this year.
The Call of Duty franchise is also recognised by Guinness World Records as being the best-selling first-person shooter videogame series, having sold 188,900,000 units cross all formats as of July 2014.
The series has also resulted in some record-breaking performances submitted by fans to Guinness World Records via their Challengers website.
Canadian gamer Daniel McNeilly registered a yet-to-beaten time of 18.40 to set a record for fastest time to complete the Stay Sharp level of Modern Warfare 3 Spec Ops last year.
Brothers Tristen Geren and Taylor Geren worked together to capture the flag in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, while blindfolded, in just 38.40 seconds in Fredericksburg, Texas, USA, on 16 September 2013.
