Cinemaware is hoping to bring another classic game into the future… well into the now. This time it’s Rocket Ranger Reloaded a brand new take on the original Rocket Ranger that was released way back in 1988 for awesome systems like the Amiga.
Since this is a brand new version of the game Cinemaware has a few side by side screenshots of the original game and Rocket Ranger Reloaded. It shows that while the graphics might be getting an update the spirit and atmosphere that really made the game is staying the same. But Cinemare isn’t just ready to remake the same game and call it quits.
Rocket Ranger Reloaded is looking to expand upon the original game in a number of ways. They are looking to add new special locations like islands, underwater bases, there’s going to be additional abilities, new RPG style features, new action sequences like fighting tanks and trunch runs, no womp rats however, the ability to research new weapons and expanded functions of your wrist monitor to name a few.
For Rocket Ranger Reloaded to get off the ground Cinemaware is looking for $89,999 and they’ve already raised $11k in under a day. Right now the early bird tier is still available for $19 to get a copy of the game on PC via Steam and GOG but if that dries up it’s $25 after that. Be sure to check out the trailer above and remember Fort Dix Needs You!
