Call of Duty wants you to never leave the battlefield and why would you, there’s kill streaks, air strikes, drone attacks, perks to unlock, friends to avenge, noobs to slay, teammates to tea bag and the world, the world needs to be saved! Now you can take your Call of Duty with you, so long as you currently have an iPhone 5/iPad Air/Mini 2 or better you can grab Call of Duty: Heroes for free.
If you don’t have an Apple device capable of letting you command the uber-cool Capt. Price or Soap MacTavish Activision is looking to get Call of Duty: Heroes onto both Android and Windows 8 Tablet in the near future so stay put. Interestingly Call of Duty: Heroes almost looks like a mobile Command and Conquer-lite game with a Call of Duty skin layered on top of it so don’t expect some FPS powerhouse on your mobile device.
The press release mentions you can team up with friends and form alliances to take down opponents, that has to be something you do outside of the in-game action as I don’t see any mention of live co-op support. Sounds like the base building should be fun depending on how free they let you get with the layout, there’s sentry guns, SAM turrets, mines and more for you to setup to defend your sweet outpost with. From early looks at the game this seems like it could be a fun time waster where you’re just sitting around with jack to do and it’s free so if you love Call of Duty why not check it out?
