Well, well, well, we finally have another contender who’s come to take the aging crown off of the WWE and their 2K wrestling video game series. 5 Star Wrestling wants that crown and their release date video even pokes the bull showing off their many RK… I mean RAO reversals. The graphics look decent for a download only title nothing revolutionary but it’s clean and not muddy. There’s a few things missing like the crowd and obviously no “real” wrestling superstars but it’s going to be how the game plays that really sets it apart from the competition.
Their press release tells us they’ve taken what they feel are the best bits and pieces from different wrestling games throughout the years. There’s heel and face mechanics, limb damage system, rivalries and a 40 hour Challenge campaign with 128 challenges and 400 objectives. Also characters are said to have goal oriented AI with a choice between 5 different personalities to change how matches play out which sounds really interesting. We’ll get our chance to see if it’s a true hall of fame contender on March 17th 2015 in North America and March 18th 2015 in UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand for $24.99/€24.99
