What happens when an alien race attempts to lay waste to earth, we attach chainsaws to our machine guns and cut some alien scum down! Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is coming to Xbox One and sometime later on PC for Windows 10, YAY! While this is only the very first Gears of War I’m hoping we get the complete run on PC and most gamers will scoff at the need for Windows 10 but we all know that if you really want to run it on Windows 8 or 7 someone, somewhere will figure it out for you if it is indeed possible. Xbox One gamers will be able to start pre-loading right now but the game does not release until August 25th 2015 and the game retails for $39.99.
Considering this is dubbed Gears of War: Ultimate Edition I’m kind of sad to see pre-order bonus skins pop up at both Amazon and Gamestop. How can it be Ultimate when there’s pre-order exclusives? But oh no it gets worse, there’s also a deluxe version, come on! Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (Deluxe Edition) for $60 is really a thing and that’s pretty sad. I would accept if it was expensive with a bunch of physical items and maybe a weapon and player skin but the fact that comes with a whole bunch of skins just rubs me the wrong way. I know they’re just player and weapon skins for multiplayer and The Coalition already remastered the whole game but I just really like my Uber Edition Editions of anything to be complete.
