We had no idea what Basement Crawl was going to be when it was first announced, we just knew that it was going to be creepy. While the title, I’m sure, led many to believe this would be a first person scare-fest like Outlast or Amnesia it’s refreshing to see that it’s more of a action puzzle game you can play with friends.
What we do know is that players can control one of four characters, each with their own abilities, there is four player hot-seat and eight player online play as well as a combo of both. You’ll have to set traps for the other players to stumble onto or remotely activate yourself, the game features dynamic cameras and as you can see based on the screenshots it is in 2.5D. As of yet we don’t have a final release date nailed down for the PlayStation 4 only title so until then just think of all the devious fun you can have trashing your friends to pieces in the levels of the screenshots after the jump below.
