So there’s some info going around that James Riley replied to the private Night Trap Facebook fan group about looking into a possible remake. Why have a private Facebook fan group for Night Trap? Moving on, if this is true, it’s amazing news for fans of the FMV genre like me.
James Riley had a hand in some of the best FMV games to come out of the 90’s namely Night Trap, Surgical Strike, Wirehead, Ground Zero Texas and Double Switch. Of the group Night Trap and Double Switch seem the most ripe for an HD conversion but if we round out the catalog for all Digital Pictures games a mega compilation of the Make My Video Series would be amazing.
So Riley obviously has the pedigree to bring Night Trap back out from the shadows to a whole new audience and more importantly see that it is done in the right way. However his quote on the matter I do plan to re-release Night Trap and have been talking with a number of interested parties to do so. However, the specific platform(s) have not been confirmed (including online) and I will let you know once we have a definite plan and release schedule, makes it sound like this is still very much in the beta stage of planning.
