Ubisoft has finally managed to bring a serious adventure game to the masses with Valiant Hearts. So far the trailers have been amazing, not the OMG shit is blowing up this is awesome amazing but instead letting the viewer know you better prepare some tissues this one is going to get rough. With all the negativity surrounding gaming I can’t think of a better time to launch Valiant Hearts.
The story revolves around 5 characters who in literally in the trenches of World War 1 from 1914 thru 1918. As everyone should know by now there is also a dog companion and while some gamers instantly thing he’s going to die I have the sneaky suspicion the dog is going to be the only one making it out of this story in one piece but maybe that’s what they want us to believe for some uber-sobs.
While the story in Valiant Hearts is fictional you have to imagine this is definitely an conglomeration of incidents and events many real soldiers went through during this trying time in history. The games comic book panel style art really has me itching to play this and I hope we get more games with this look in the future, who hasn’t dreamed of their comic books turning into animated stories?
I say watch out for Valiant Heart spoilers throughout the web-o-sphere this week as this is one game you want to go in knowing as little as possible. Valiant Hearts is coming to PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Sorry Nintendo fans, even though you got Rayman Ubisoft has not listed Valiant Hearts for the Wii U or Nintendo 3DS at this time.
