Interesting, PC Gamer just launched PC Gamer Digital on Steam. The app itself is free however “issues” will each run $1.99. It kind of works like a more interactive version of Qore on PlayStation 3. And if you love achievements there’s even those as well, yeah, achievements for a digital magazine, who knew! Oddly there doesn’t seem to be a subscription option and we would have liked to see the first issue drop for free so everyone can check it out for themselves. *UPDATE* Thanks to Tyler from PC Gamer for letting us know in the comments that the base application includes a free episode, Episode 0, so you guys can download that and get a taste of what PC Gamer Digital is all about. Also it seems Steam is the hold up on havin a subscription option available for PC Gamer to use, and we hope that Steam gets this up pronto as we checked out Episode 0 and went right in and purchased Episode 1. I’ve personally been waiting for a good interactive gaming magazine to come along since I first bought CD Gamer, I think that was the name, in the 90’s when I was younger which had pixelated videos and interviews along with demos and shareware on the disc. PC Gamer Digital finally seems like what I’ve been hoping for all these years, congradulations guys on a job well done!

Hi! Just a couple notes: the base application includes "episode 0" free, and we are definitely working on a subscription option (that infrastructure isn't yet available on Steam). Thanks for your post! 🙂
Hey Tyler,
Thanks for the info, we’ve updated the post with the info, I checked out the base application and went ahead and bought Episode 1, can’t wait for Steam to let you guys roll out a subscription, we’ll buy it come day 1!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it. We are definitely going to work on more features and fun stuff going forward. Also, if you play Team Fortress 2, you may want to have a peek in your backpack. 😉
