Spec Ops: The Line is going to have it’s work cut out for it when it releases in 2012 as we’ve already had two modern day military juggernauts released, COD:MW3 and BF3 but it sounds like 2K Games is really going for a story that’s going to pull you in. If they can pull it off it should be just what’s needed to set itself apart from the pack. Since this new trailer is all story and emotion centric we’ve also linked up the older trailer that had some gameplay but it’s from August 2010 so stuff could have changed a lot since then. Check out the additional screenshots and press release below and we’ll see you in the sands of Dubai in Spring of 2012, kind weird for a sandy shooter but hey everyone needs a ying to their yang!

2K Games Releases New Trailer for Spec Ops®: The LineTM
Windsor, UK – November 22, 2011 – 2K Games announced today thatSpec Ops®: The Line™, the modern military shooter that combines thrilling combat with a thought-provoking narrative, will be released during spring 2012. A brand new trailer depicting Captain Walker’s journey through Dubai can be viewed at www.specopstheline.com.
“With all of its grandeur and opulence, Dubai provides the perfect backdrop to play out Spec Ops: The Line’s deep and complex narrative. This bold endeavor harnesses 2K’s pedigree of creating fascinating stories, settings and worlds to create an aggressive narrative and environment that you won’t find in other games on the market,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Wartime narratives evoke emotion like few things else in our culture. Players will fight through this hostile environment in Spec Ops: The Line, creating a raw and unique video game experience. ”
In Spec Ops: The Line players will assume the role of Captain Walker, a U.S. Delta Force soldier on a harrowing rescue mission to save the damned 33rd squad of the U.S. Infantry. Set against the backdrop of a sandstorm-ravaged Dubai, Spec Ops: The Line is 2K’s first foray into the modern military genre, combining its trademark narrative depth with compelling action to move players beyond the simple conflicts of good-versus-bad.
